Two years before without a word of explanation, Francesca DeAngelo's husband, Jake, packed his bags and moved out, leaving her with a hundred-year-old vineyard, a fledging winery, their 6-year-old son and her youthful and feisty mother-in-law, Julianne Harris. Since then, on the surface, Francesca has managed fairly well all by herself. But now, disaster threatens to strike!

A huge conglomerate, represented by smooth, corporate Mitchel Gillette, is determined to mass produce wine in the valley and ruin small independent vintners. Unbelievably, Francesca's sensible, matter-of-fact mother-in-law has fallen head-over-heels for him and to make matters worse, a reformed Jake Harris wants to come home.
